Pistol Creek ALPO Strike Hits Local Economy
PISTOL CREEK JUNCTION -- Mudcat Falls is beginning to feel the effects of the American Lawyers and Paralegals Organization, Local #22 work stoppage in up river Pistol Creek Juntion, now entering its third week. The work stoppage is both a boon and a bust for local citizens and businesses. On the up side, F.B.I. crime statistics show a stunning decrease in both violent and non-violent crimes as bad guys migrate to a court and justice system that has ground to a halt. On the down side, this means that business is hurting for local attorneys.

"My business is off thirty to thirty-five percent from this time last year," said renowned defense attorney Steve Dallas. "Normally, coming up on the holidays like we are, my case load would have me pulling my hair out, but I'm spending way too much sitting around the office trying to make time with Sheila."

Those sentiments were echoed by County Prosecutor Phil Emhup. "It's been so quiet around the court house that it's kind of eirie. All the crooks are going to rob convenience stores in Pistol Creek. Even traffic citiations are down. I guess the speeders are burning up the ashphalt in their jurisdiction. I may have to take some forced vacation time.
